Overview
Solution Architect for FPPI (Future Proof Passenger
Information) program defining solution architectures for future-proof passenger information systems. Breaks down complex large-scale systems into clear, manageable components for both technical and business stakeholders. Facilitates architectural processes, identifies constraints and quality attributes, and ensures risks and trade-offs are discussed. Guides business and IT management in making informed architectural decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that the architecture of the assigned products is sound, well understood, and continuously evolves in a direction that best supports the business case while adhering to established architectural guardrails.
- Facilitate architectural discussions, ensuring that architectural decisions are made consciously, and that their trade-offs and associated risks are clearly understood—both internally within the teams and externally with client stakeholders.
- Act as a key partner bridging business stakeholders, IT managers, enterprise architects, domain architects, and delivery teams.
- Ensure that the defined solution architecture is correctly implemented by validating solution designs and following up on their implementation.
- Ensure that knowledge is actively shared and disseminated among colleagues.
- Evaluate project constraints to identify viable alternatives, mitigate risks, and perform re-engineering where required.
- Keep stakeholders informed of any issues related to the architecture.
- Perform architectural analysis of epics and contribute to their refinement from an architectural perspective.
Must Have Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Software Architect (Solution, Integration, or Application).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the railway industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience with API management platforms and API gateways.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in integration architecture.
- Certified in ArchiMate (minimum Foundation level).
- Certified in Open Agile Architecture.
- Proven experience with Kafka, Azure Cloud, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience in API design using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Proficiency in UML and ArchiMate modeling.
- Demonstrated depth and relevance of architectural experience in comparable environments.

Fluent in Dutch or French (spoken and written – minimum C1 level), with a good command of English (spoken and written – minimum B2 level).
