Overview
The Power System Applications Engineer is responsible for the development, customization, and delivery of advanced Power System Applications for Transmission. This role involves working closely with Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to gather functional specifications, design, code, test, integrate, and tune software solutions for optimal performance and reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver advanced Power System Applications for Transmission, ensuring all assigned functions meet corporate project and product commitments.
- Collaborate with Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) on functional software specifications.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and tune applications for optimal performance and reliability.
- Engage with customers to address day-to-day issues and organize calls to facilitate the implementation of solutions.
- Adhere to change control and compliance protocols while ensuring solutions effectively resolve customer issues.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of software solutions aligned with customer and organizational requirements.
Must Have Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems, preferably e-terra AEMS – Reliance.
- Experience working on Power Systems applications for transmission, including load flow, contingency analysis, and power factor calculations.
- At least 5 years of experience with C++, Java, or other related programming languages.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with Power Systems applications for transmission (load flow, contingency analysis, power factor, etc.).
- At least 2 years of experience in implementation and customization of Power System applications.
- Proven experience in developing applications using C++ and Java.
- Fluent in English.
