Overview
Business Analyst supporting renewable energy asset management and trading. Gathers and analyses requirements, produces functional documentation, and validates system implementation. Uses Python, SQL, and cloud tools to deliver insights and support end-to-end solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate business requirements for the asset management of renewable energy systems, including integration into the electrical grid and power markets, and enabling renewable energy trading.
- Prepare functional requirements documents for asset management systems, as well as contract management and trading systems supporting renewable energy operations.
- Develop and execute test cases covering the same functional scope, ensuring accurate implementation of documented requirements and alignment with business needs.
- Create comprehensive functional documentation for delivered systems, catering to both end users and support teams, ranging from low-level “how-to” onboarding guides to high-level, end-to-end product and process overviews.
Must Have Skills
- In-depth knowledge of power markets, with expertise in renewable technologies and their specificities with regard to asset management and energy trading.
- Python and SQL skills, with experience in software development, data science, or related fields.
- Familiarity with cloud tools (e.g., AWS) and relational databases.
- Ability to critically analyse complex information, break it down into manageable components, and synthesise coherent insights.
- Capability to understand and analyse complex systems as a whole, namely recognising interconnections and identifying feedbacks.
- Proactive mindset, with the drive to identify and creatively solve complex problems.
- Ability to convey complex issues in a nuanced manner to diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle tight deadlines with composure.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Fluency in Dutch or French is a plus.
- Experience in trading or operating assets within wholesale and/or ancillary service markets is considered an advantage.
